Old mother earth, your choked horizons sicken me
this blue planet, once living now a poisoned sea
betrayed by chemical conversion, left an empty shell
ancient garden paradise, now a living hell
whole worlds warped by wounds run deep
revenant husks now adrift in furious sleep
flesh fingers form
to strip mine and sterilize
bleed planets dry
and bleach the skies
Now we fly far from the sun
to forget the evils, earth undone
fly away to new fountainheads
what we leaved behind is surley dead
Searching perpetual darkness
inside vast nothingness
between pulsars, star crossed
frozen, waiting, alone and lost
we modern ghosts are prisoners of war
Left for dead in cognitive backwaters
Your end of days came and went
and left us trapped
behind the barricades of your smashed ideologies.
we modern ghosts
Lost on desolate pathways
are little more than children
yet we stand united
to wait out the end of all time
we modern ghosts
out from ruin
from the rooftops of burning tenements
from under your glorious thrones
and your palaces of steel and glass
